Jane Seymour was born around 1509 the daughter of Sir John Seymour of Wiltshire. Jane served as a Lady-in-Waiting to both Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn. By early 1536 Jane was subject to the attentions of Henry VIII and shortly afterwards Anne Boleyn was beheaded. The day after the execution Henry married Jane and in 1537 she provided him with a long wanted son and heir who became Edward VI of England. Jane died twelve days after giving birth.
